Jimmy Vi

Jimmy Vi is a Toronto-based director who first honed his creative eye in advertising, where he worked as a creative director before finding his true passion in film.

His work is defined by a sense of visual poetry—rich in art direction, yet always intimate and personal. He’s directed projects for clients like Nike, Foot Locker, Universal, and Sony Music, with campaigns that have reached millions of viewers.

Outside of directing, Jimmy is dedicated to giving back. He co-runs ECRU.CLUB, where he leads programming, mentorship, and workshops for emerging BIPOC creatives. Whether he’s watching anime, gaming, or listening to music, the common thread in Jimmy’s life and work is a commitment to stories told with purpose—celebrating diversity in cultures and backgrounds.
